zynd your vision

You are holding a box of matches from me: black sticks, coloured heads, this address on the side. Thanks for looking.

zynd comes from the German for igniting, and that is what the work is about: setting the first spark so the rest carries on by itself. It looks like very little, and it is most of the job.

There are fifteen matches in the box. Enough for a fire, and enough for the puzzle below.

Four squares, two moves

Fifteen matches lie here as four squares. Move two of them, without taking any away, and there are five of the same size. A sixth, larger one appears along the way.

Five squares, three moves

Twelve matches, five squares: four small ones and the big one around them. Move three matches so that only three squares are left.

Where does innovation begin?

Usually with a sentence that went unsaid for a long time. In the describing, most knots show where they sit, and some come loose along the way. For the rest, I am here.
